Picnic in the Park, Cirencester

- commentary by Chantel, UKCVF Volunteer

On an overcast but seemingly bright Sunday in September, Caroline organised and hosted our second UK CV Family Picnic in the Park. Held at the beautiful Abbey Grounds in Cirencester, it was truly wonderful to meet new friends and see awareness being raised about our injuries.

It was brilliant watching Caroline chat with the public as they learned about Covid-19 Vaccine Injuries and the effects they have had on our members, and their fight to be recognised.

Even though I was only there for part of the event, I could see the difference that was being made.

I find that since the Covid lockdowns began and especially after my Covid-19 Vaccine Injury, I have spent many of my days hidden away, isolated. If it weren't for our UK CV Family and the comfort found within, knowing that I am not alone in my experience, I would have found this journey insurmountable. As such, I worry for those that don't have the understanding and support of a group like ours.

Whether someone is pro-Covid Vaccine or anti, others need to know that there is support via our group, support that is non-political, biased or has an agenda; And most of all, like those in our UK CV Family support group, to know that they are not alone.

Commentary posted initially on our Facebook support page and edited for our blog.
